Gorsley Festival
24th-28th August 2006
The festival, held at Gorsley Baptist Chapel over the August Bank holiday weekend, has become an annual event. The festival has been running for 27 years and has evolved from just flower displays to a weekend packed full of bible teaching and worship, with hundreds of people camping on-site.
This year the flowers in the chapel and the bible teaching combined to expound the life of Moses and was entitled 'Fresh Strength For Life's Journey'. Nia wrote the theme song for this event - Miriam's Dance, which features on the album Cappuccino Girls
Nia writes... "I had the joy of leading worship over the weekend, which meant I got to hear all the seminars." The music was provided by Gorsley's home-grown talent; weeks of practice ensured everyone was in tune and in time!
The speakers at the festival this year included...
Mike Hill Bishop of Bristol
Louie Giglio Atlanta, GA
David E. Carr Renewal Christian Centre, Solihull
John Lewis Senior Pastor at Gorsley Baptist Chapel
Nia joined the Festival Choir for the Monday night finale, to sing Oh Happy Day, click on the image to see this. (7.3MB)
